How do I make 'Windows Search' work again?

Jan 7, 2011 7:14AM PST

I only want my startup menus indexed, but now for some unknown reason, I have 519 Items indexed. And when i go into indexing options and then 'Modify' the "summary of selected icons (bottom box) is completely empty.

Sounds right if everything is getting indexed.

From that link, READ THIS CAREFULLY -
"You cannot select the file locations shown on the Indexing Options window and remove them. Instead you have to select the entry and click Modify. Figure B shows the expanded view of the Users Indexing entry. It is from here that you can disable this option so it is not included in your machine's indexing."

The figure B shows hoe Users is expanded and checked and the two users are also checked. Now BECAUSE they are checked they are excluded. You exclude what you want.
