How do I make my website appear in a search engine?

Jul 21, 2006 7:40PM PDT

Will a blog with a name like http://laudanumloversjournal.blogspot.com/
show up on different search engines - or is there a way that I can make the topic and information appear without paying or does it cost to register with a search engine? What other ways can I get people to know about the site and is there a way to get the part "http://laudanumloversjournal.blogspot.com" in a search engine without using the name, but using the information that is on the site (something like keywords to lead to it?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!!!!
Sincerely,
Somni Divine

Sometimes

Sometimes it takes a month for the crawlers to find your website. Some crawlers will NOT go to the FREE websites (example, geocities). Once they visit your website, it takes about another month until they return.

Keep your website simple. Use html coding and try to stay away from flash, videos, etc. The crawlers CANNOT read those objects. You have to put in alt text for those objects.

Good luck
