When you say that you have put XP onto your system, was this over a previous version of windows or as a second operating system? If so why onto the d drive, the operating system is designed to work from the c drive and as such keeps going back to the c drive for all its requirements, it does not find what it wants on the c drive and then has to go back to the d drive hence why it is so slow. I do not think that making the d drive any bigger would solve your problem, I would recommend that you take it off the d drive and put it onto the c drive.
can any one help me to make my D drive bigger I have put xp on my computer and it has gone into my d drive but it is not big enough so my computer is very very slow now please HELP!!!!
