General discussion

how do I know if I've been sent a european model camera?

Jun 15, 2005 12:40PM PDT

besides the model numbers, are there any other tell-tale signs?

to specify, I'm buying a panasonic lumix dmc-fz5 from beachcamera.com.

also, how do I find the u.s. and european model numbers for this camera? is the u.s. model number simply DMC- FZ 5?

thanks in advance

I just visited Beach Camera yesturday to buy a new camera. This website son't sell you the European model and won't rip you off like A & M or expresscameras.com. Unless you specifically asked for the European model, I highly doubt you will get the European model.

The USA Panasonic website list the cameras this way:

DMC FX5S - silver
DMC FX5K - black

The UK Panasonic website lists this way:

DMCFZ5B - silver
DMCFX5BB - black

Here is link to UK Panasonic:

http://shop.panasonic.co.uk/icat/digitalcameras

Your camera should have documents to direct you to register your camera at a USA address.
