With the release of IOS6 many apps are requiring IOS4.3 and above, which are beyond the last update for the iPhone 3G. Without realizing this I downloaded a few of these updates, which overwrote the older versions and removed them from the phone at the next sync (I was able to recover them from the trash and reinstall them over the updates.)
Now that I've bought an iPhone5, I'd like to be able to keep the apps updated for the new phone but also keep the older versions on the 3G as I'm using it as an "iPod touch". Any ideas? I'd like to be able to keep syncing the 3G to get podcasts and my music to it.
