Question

How do I hook 2 HDMI when TV has 1 HDMI port

Mar 25, 2014 3:05AM PDT

I have an LG 60" Plasma TV with one HDMI port. My DirecTV HD DVR is connected to that HDMI port. Because my LG bp530 smart Bluray player does not have the Amazon Prime Video app, I want to use Roku to get the Amazon app. Roku requires use of an HDMI port. How do I hook up two HDMI devices to the one HDMI port on my TV. LG says using an HDMI switch might interfere with the signal.

Answer
I use HDMI switches.

The reason LG writes that is they can't support you if you happen to get a bad switch. Some folk can't take a chance so for them I suggest they call in some home support and have them setup, demo the switch working. Sometimes the service is worth it for folk?

So I should be able to use a multi port switch. Think I'll go that way. Thanks Bob

Should.

But there are folk that have trouble. This is why there are services and folk that come in and show it working. I never had any issue.
