Having programs loaded into memory is a good thing. RAM, (Random Access Memory), runs a lot faster than running a program direct from the hard disk, so performance is better.

It works like this. When you first start a program or application, it has to run from the hard disk because that is where it is stored. But then the Operating System, (OS), places components of the program into RAM so that it can be accessed quicker the next time you need it.
