Question

How do I get rid of an annoying error message?

Sep 6, 2011 3:42AM PDT

I recently deleted Nero 7 from my computer and replaced it with Roxio. Every time I go to open certain video or picture files I get an error message by nero tha I am "missing a advrcn2.dll file" and its hard to get rid of, I have to close it like 5 or six times. I can't seem to find out what is launching it on my computer. I recently did a registry clean and made sure it deleted all the Nero files, yet I still am getting it. I'm running windows XP of a dell Inspiron 530 computer

I think you got the filename wrong. Could it be it is advrcntr2.dll in stead of advrcn2.dll?
And I think you did something wrong. "deleted" and "registry clean" don't look good. The one and only way is uninstall via control panel.
So that's the first solution: reinstall from the CD, uninstall via Control Panel.
The second solution: reinstall from the CD, use the clean tool http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2/468065 tells about to uninstall it.
And the third solution: reinstall it and keep it. Just don't use it. Having a program more or less on your hard disk doesn't make any difference.

I used Nero to uninstall the program, you do have the error file right I am getting. The problem with reinstalling the file is that it runs in conflict to the New Roxio program I have installed. Is there any way to uninstall the error messsage itself, or could I possible just extract the file from the disk on copy that to the computer.
