Question

How do I get my Mac to recognize my HTC One M9?

May 21, 2017 4:13PM PDT

Hey all, thanks for taking the time to read and respond to my question. Here's my predicament: I am trying to connect my phone to my Mac so I can run recovery software to get back non-Google-synced contacts that a software update deleted from my phone (HTC One M9).

So far I have:
- Enabled USB Debugging in the Developer Options on my phone
- Installed HTC Sync Manager on my Mac
- Tried multiple USB Cords
- Restarted both my phone and laptop

Additionally, I cannot figure out where to turn on MTP Mode on my phone, nor does the "charging only" option that I should be able to click to change show up when I unlock my lock screen.

Lastly, does anyone have recommendations on recovery softwares that are compatible with Android to Mac connections (and preferably have a free trial?).

What a mess.

Thanks again!

Oh and I have also downloaded the Android File Transfer application, but it just says "No Android Device Found."
