How do I get my edited HD video to my TV to view it?

Nov 2, 2006 9:00AM PST

I am considering purchasing a HD video camera.
At present I use a non hd panasonic.
I capture the video with firewire and I edit using ulead video editor.
I then burn the video on DVD and watch.
I do not have a HD DVD burner.

My question is how do I get my edited HD video from my computer to my TV. Can I burn the video onto a normal DVD and if so how much video (time duration) will it fit. Will compression solve this problem and if I compress the video will I lose the HD quality

Heres what you can do...

Presently, there is no other way to watch HD video on your TV except through your HDV camcorder tape. If your computer is close to the TV, you could use composite or HDMI but since no HD DVD or BluRay burners are out, theres nothing you can do. My advice: Buy a miniDV camcorder now so you can do what you want. If you wait for a couple more months, you will be able to edit AVCHD which is in miniDVDs and HDD camcorders. By then HD DVD and BluRay burners will be out so you can put them on an HD DVD or BluRay disc. For now, hook up the camcorder to the TV and just watch it through the cables. Good luck!

A few ideas.

1. Upload it back to the HD video camera and play from it.
2. Get a HD or Blueray recorder.
3. Connect the HD to the PC.
