Question

How do I get around/reset theSystem Password

Dec 10, 2011 6:53AM PST

I have a Dell Optiplex GX280 with Vista, I had to replace the mother board. Not thinking I created a system password, now when I boot-up and go to type in the password the keyboard isn't working for me to type in the PW. HELP me please to get around it. Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Answer
The BIOS password?

I thought the BIOS password on Dells only required me to put the jumper on the Password Clear pins?

As to a WINDOWS PASSWORD (your post is a little unclear) that's easy too. I use NTPASSWD and for those that don't want to make a boot CD or such, they have http://www.lostpassword.com

Just for drill, remove and then replace the CMOS battery, see if that does the reset.
