The problem here though is that I need to format my hard disk. I have the upgrade of XP, not the full install. So that means I need to install my old copy of 95 and then upgrade to XP. You can't upgrade from 2000 to XP, hence the reason why I need to format. Thank you for the attempt though. If you, or anyone else can still help, i'd greatly appriciate it!

You don't need to do that.

You can ask in the XP forum as well, but you are working far too hard. The update just asks to see the 95 CD. I've done this without issue.

If you install 95, you trigger too many other possible traps. Why not do this easy?

Many after-market programs are great for this. I use "Partition Magic" ver. 8 I had MANY problems with WinXP, and had to re-format many times. This is a self-booting disk, just go in and eliminate any or all partitions that you want. You can also format a particular partition in any format needed to fit your needs. I highly recommend keeping this program handy. Good Luck in your endeavour.
