and was able to duplicate the issue with his laptop. I would wonder what this person suggested as the diagnosis and corrective action. It would seem that your laptop is OK, would it not? In this case, if the ISP provided all of the hardware up to and including your modem, they need to fix the problem. You didn't say whether your service was cable or DSL as each has it's own quirks when connections are not perfect and it could be something right there on site. A bad cable splice can cause this as can some loose connection. In any event, I would wonder if you have a place you can go to try your laptop from another location....a friend maybe? If you can not duplicate the issue from another location, that would seem to further verify that your laptop is fine and your ISP needs to fix this.
