and was able to duplicate the issue with his laptop. I would wonder what this person suggested as the diagnosis and corrective action. It would seem that your laptop is OK, would it not? In this case, if the ISP provided all of the hardware up to and including your modem, they need to fix the problem. You didn't say whether your service was cable or DSL as each has it's own quirks when connections are not perfect and it could be something right there on site. A bad cable splice can cause this as can some loose connection. In any event, I would wonder if you have a place you can go to try your laptop from another location....a friend maybe? If you can not duplicate the issue from another location, that would seem to further verify that your laptop is fine and your ISP needs to fix this.
I have a dell computer with Windows 7 Home Edition Premium 64 bit. Internet Wired adapter connection
I had to have my windows reinstalled because of a virus that attacked my computer. Problem I am having is when I run the dell checkup on my Internet Status it passes everything except the network adapter ( Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller), its says no connection on the Local Network Communciation test. I went and network adapter ( Realtex ) and windows is saying that my computer appears to be correctly configured but my device or resource (DVS SERVER ) is not responding.
It does not make since I am able to get on th internet but I keep losing my signal. So is this my computer or my internet service provider.
Also noted is my internet provider came to my home and he unplugged my computer from the modem and plugged it in to his laptop . He was getting the same thing on his lap top . Two different computers getting same thing.
What or how do I fix this problem ? And is it my computer or my providers problem ?
