I believe here is where this post should be continued > https://www.cnet.com/forums/discussions/how-do-i-fix-the-errors-when-i-try-to-access-localhost-2/
These messages show up when i try to access localhost/phpmyadmin
"I have Connection for controluser as defined in your configuration failed."
"mysqli_real_connect(): (HY000/2002): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it."
"phpMyAdmin tried to connect to the MySQL server, and the server rejected the connection. You should check the host, username and password in your configuration and make sure that they correspond to the information given by the administrator of the MySQL server."
and when i try to access local/wordpress it says
"Error establishing a database connection"
Before this i tried to link my domain to wordpress through changing the WP-config settings. I didn't copy and paste the old settings so i'm not sure what credentials to use or how to find them out.
I tried so many different combinations like with MySql username as root and password (blank) or username (mysql login) password (mysql password) or even username WP user. I have even checked a tutorial that suggests going into apache config and changing the 'password' to your password. I tried but it didnt work and i wasn't even sure what password he meant. I just don't know what to do any ideas?
As far as i could tell my wordpress is only local.
