Question

How do I fix logonui.exe - application error on Windows 10

Apr 21, 2016 9:24PM PDT

Hey guys,
I have get a Toshiba satellite pro c850 using Windows 10. Randomly after a restart of my computer it went to a green screen with the loading dots spinning, and a box saying:

LogonUI.exe - Application error
The exception breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached.
(0x80000003) occurred in the application at location 0x00007FFD380413AF.
Click on OK to terminate the program

I tried Ctrl alt del saying that:
Runtime error!
Program: C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogonUI.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I press Ctrl alt esc and the box disappears but the loading dots still spinning.

I can't do anything else than that. Please help.

This also might be a case of a corrupted account. Can you still login to your other Windows accounts than your usual one?

Just in case you didn't know (it might be useful if you have to reset Windows 10 to its initial settings), it's a recommended practice since the days of Windows 95 to have at least to admin accounts. One for normal use, and one spare in case the normal one is corrupted. Then you can still login and get everything working again.
