Question

how do i fix a weird graphical error?

by airborne000 / May 18, 2013 12:15 PM PDT

I have a sapphire radeon 6950 running on windows 7 and i keep getting weird graphical artifacts or weird lines jetting off objects in games and online. Normal desktop and start menu screens have not been effected but as soon as I launch firefox or a game like magicka, SWTOR, or WOT i keep getting weird little screen errors. The ones i get on firefox disrupt text but as soon as i highlight the text is completely normal. In games weird triangular long pointy shapes branch off of characters to random points on the screen no matter what way i orientate the camera. after loading magicka over and over the problem seems to always have the same shap off the same point on the opening book... After reinstalling my operating system unplugging and re-plugging ram I tried to disable the graphic card drivers from the manage devices program. this fixes my issue that im aware of as i no longer get the problem on firefox (although i am still plugged into the card) but i cannot launch games... A friend of mine believes it is a problem with the drivers then but i cant figure out how to fix it... ive downloaded and installed the most recent catalyst control sweet and everything says its up to date but still the problem persists... I am now confused and lost and dont want to buy a new graphic card if i dont have to, someone save me!!!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
