- Why did you reformat? Did it have anything to do with printer problems?
- Did you incidentally change the settings for the parallel port in the BIOS? Check it.
- This is of course a parallel printer and it is connected to the parallel port? Not a USB printer?
- Boot into MS-DOS and try copy \autoexec.bat lpt1: (assuming there is an autoexec.bat in the root folder otherwise take any other text file in any other folder): any understandable error message? Note: MS-DOS won't support USB-printer.
- Tried the Printer Troubleshooter from the Help?
- Any errors in Device Manager for the parallel port?
- Sure you installed the correct drivers?
- Parallel port might need motherboard drivers installed (unlikely, I think)? For USB not installing motherboard drivers is a very likely cause of the problems.
- Printer self test or diagnostics in the driver?
Problem can be in BIOS/port/drivers/cable/printer. The easiest way to exclude the printer is to use it on another PC. The easiest way to exclude the system is to use another printer on the same port. The easiest way to exclude the cable is trying another cable.

Hi Friends,
1} I formatted my disk [C] and cannot use my printer.
2} My printer was working fine before formatting.
3} I keep getting the error "error printing to LPT1."
4} I have installed/uninstalled with no results.
5} I`ve gone Online with the Maker of BJC-240.
6} If the printer is`nt working anymore, how can I tell
