Question

How do I download games from my computer to my iPaq?

May 10, 2014 11:54PM PDT

I have HP iPaq PDA (pocket pc) rz1710 series and I want to download Doom (first person shooter) to my iPaq. I tried downloading to my SD card from my computer and my ipaq froze. I had to reset my ipaq which thankfully didn't erase any of my data. So, now I need to know, how do I PROPERLY download games to my ipaq? Thanks a bunch.

http://www.cnet.com/products/hp-ipaq-pocket-pc-rz1710/ shows this is no PC but way back then the makers confused folk with the moniker PocketPC. As this is not a PC you don't copy games from your PC to this PDA.

BTW, I wrote apps for Windows Mobile back then as well as PalmOS so I did meet a lot of confused folk back then.

PS. Doom 4 CE?

Remember it's been a decade since then and once in a while some one will find a Windows CE machine and become very very confused. I can't teach the basics of setup/installation but as a developer I don't mind covering the issues I see newcomers re-discover. That is, it's not a PC.

So, if I'm going to download games, I need to do it directly from my PDA, not the computer?

OK, so it is Doom 4CE.

One of the distribution methods I used was to put the install or executable on the memory card. Remember this is a decade old system and you didn't tell if you were just finding some old thing and didn't read any instructions so with no background to draw on, why not put it on the memory card or sync it?
