How do i disable the "Num on"/"Num off" balloons?

hi,
as per the title, just got a new HP EliteBook w/ XP on. this pop-up balloon thing is driving my crazy ~ how can i disable it?

Are you sure such a nice new ultrabook comes with Windows XP? I only see it with Windows 7.

And what balloon do you see? And when does it appear? I've never seen it with any PC or laptop.

One of those was a HP addon.

Another was over in the BlueTooth manager. As you own the machine you have to hunt it down as there were no less than 20 solutions to this one.

But I have to ask. Since this machine is well over 5 years old, why ask now? Didn't this bother you long ago? (or is there more to this story.)

This was driving me crazy to so I had to figure this out. This is from the "HP Hotkey Support". You can disable this by going into MSConfig (START -> RUN -> MSCONFIG) and unchecking this under the Startup tab. A restart is required after turning this off.
