Question

How Do I Determine The Version Number For "McAfee Framework"

Apr 23, 2015 9:55PM PDT

Hello,

Question 1: How do I determine the version number of McAfee Framework on Windows 5, 6, 7, 8, etc.

When I run services.msc on Windows (via the Search box and the Start task bar), I see FrameworkService.exe. The description shown is "Shared component framework for McAfee products."

This service, I believe, is McAfee Framework. I'm looking how to determine the version number of this.

For work, I have to determine the version number of McAfee Framework on several computers because they may be updated to a newer version of McAfee Framework.

Question 2: How do I install a the most recent version of McAfee Framework?

Thank you,
Michael

The version of the program might be in the might be in the details of the right click properties of the exe-file. But that's not necessarily the version of any McAfee product your run. For that you look in the help of their GUI. For example, if i click on McAfee SiteAdvisor Toolbar in Tools>Manage Add-ons of Internet Explorer it shows I've got version 3.7.0.0.

To install the latest version of any McAfee product, buy it or download it from their website if it's free.

RIGHT clicking on the "FrameworkService.exe" file, choosing "Details" should give the OP the correct Framework Service version.

Hope this helps.
