How do I create LRC file in MAC?

by Jakobjkraft / July 12, 2013 4:13 AM PDT

I'm a recent Windows convert; so far it's been pretty smooth adjusting EXCEPT I can't for the life of me figure out how to save a text file with the necessary .lrc extension in the Mac text editor. It says something like "cannot have lrc extension, must have lrc.txt.
In windows, I could just use Notepad or Wordpad, and it would just except a file being saved with .lrc extension.
How do I accomplish this on a MAC?

So let it save it as that and rename it?

Not really helpful

That doesn't really answer my question -- if lrc files that I created in Windows are recognized in Mac OS, it stands to reason that there should be a way to create those files in MAC OS.
Telling me I must never rename files ending in .txt makes no sense, because .lrc files ARE text files. But the .lrc extension tells music application to treat them differently, enable lyrics to be syncronized.

Anyone else?

Must change it to plain text (CMD+SHIFT+T) and then you can save it as lrc file. Weird, but whatever - it works!

Good to read.

I've used the old rename trick for far too many years. There are more ways to skin a cat it seems but it's always bad news for the cat.

Single click on the name of the file, after it has been saved, remove the rtf extension and replace it with orc.

Worked for me just now
