I have Windows 7 Home and Student. I also have a HP All-in-One printer(Scan, copy and print). I use a Lenovo Idea Centre Desktop.

No different from any other image, like a picture from your camera or a picture downloaded from Internet. How to do it exactly, indeed, depends on the version of Word (XP, 2003, 2007,2010), but Steven told you the broad lines.

Thank you, Steven and Kees!. I tried the method suggested by Stevens without success. My Windows 7 is the Home Basic version. Perhaps it is not equipped to do this kind of copy job and perhaps needs an extra software? If so, could you advise me please. Thank you.

If you want to scan into Word.

In Clip Organizer --> File --> Add Clips --> From scanner.

If you've already scanned the image and created such as a .jpg file, you may be able to bring it in as a picture. I don't know of a Windows version called "Home and Student" so I presume you mean MS Office. Depending on the version you use Insert/Picture from the pulldown. You navigate to the file and select it. This brings it into Word and you can place it and adjust its size as appropriate from there.

Thanks Steven.. I have Windows 7, the most basic version, whatever you call it [The description 'Home & Student refers to my Office 2010. Sorry for the confusion] I have clicked on the 'Picture' in the Insert tab and nothing happens. I shall try once more and come back to you inj a day. Thanks

Re: insert picture

With me, if I click Insert>Picture, I get the standard popup for opening a file that lets me browse to the picture to insert. If you don't something is very wrong with either your Word or your Windows.
