This is a proprietary H264 codec video file.

Based on the information you supplied, it is not surprising that you have had no answers.

What application created the file?
What applications have you tried to open it with?

Take a look at VLC, it's free and opens "most" video types.

I got these sound files from a site with music from old sega video games. I tried garageband and itunes to open them but they didn't work. I have VLC but isn't that for movies? Anyway, that didn't work either.

Win and Mac, are having problems with this format.

Winamp with a plugin seems to have been the only app to play it and then not every time

win rar will help you

Each vgz file is a g-zip compressed file. Download and install ?winrar?, and open the file with it. You should be able to extract the file or files. You can play the file (which may be a VGM file) with ?Winamp?, as long as you have the correct plug-in for it.

If I use Winamp, do you know if there would be any way I could convert it to .mp3 with it? Thanks for the responses.

Hi there I am not sure if this works but maybe play the file in winamp and while it's playing record the sound with Audacity and then save as mp3?
