Your provider

There are just too many items to look at and check, yada, yada. I suggest you visit your TV source provider and see what they offer. It maybe the actual instructions of any connections and what if anything else is needed or not. Also, there maybe some "copyright scheme" at work as well, so that could defeat any attempt to record such streaming. Next, there shouldn't be an actual at the TV connection for your laptop as a "pass through" streaming thing, that is usually somewhere else, the "box" or afterwards. At the actual laptop itself, you just start the process from the Win7 media center and follow prompts.

BUT, you gave no details of your actual setup, etc.. a real solution if left hanging.

- The easiest way is to use only the TV, for example the Netflix or Youtube app it has.
- If it isn't such a smart TV, the next easiest thing is to use a Roku box. See http://www.roku.com/netflixplayer.
- If that isn't an option, the next best thing is to connect the HDMI out of your laptop to the HDMI of input of your TV using a HDMI cable and use the PC to stream the video.
