How do I completely delete IE ?

I currently run windows xp Home SP 2

Amd Anthlon 64x2 4200 2.2 ghz

Sckt939)EVGA nForce4 SLI Chipset SATA RAID Dual PCI-E Mainboard w/GbLAN,USB2.0,&7.1Audio

1 GB PC3200 400MHz DDR MEMORY

Ati Radeon 1600 x pro 512mb PCI-e

250GB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 8MB Cache 7200RPM HDD.

Not sure if this is possible but I want to run firefox 2.0 with out Ie On my pc. I mean if I try to update or go to any of my Programs main web page It automatically opens in IE. How Do I eliminate IE to where all my webpages open using firefox.

But you may need to know that Microsoft has this idea that Windows Update is for Internet Explorer only. But the link above can get the job done.

Making Firefox your default browser...

In Firefox go to Tools/Options/Main Tab/ At the bottom of that page under "System Defaults" click the "Check Now" button and follow the prompts to set Firefox as the default browser. You need to keep Internet Explorer to get XP Updates... but use it for nothing else.

With Firefox set as the default IE should cause you no further problems with things opening in it.

It cannot be completely removed from Windows PC, so the best way to get rid of IE popping out is to set your Firefox as the default browser, thats the only way as of now.
