Pedro, most likely what has happened here is when you uninstalled to correct the date NSW left remnants in the registry. You need to uninstall and remove what is left in the registry and then do another install.

CAUTION! If you are not experienced with the registry be very careful and before you start make a backup in case something goes wrong.

Good Luck!

I hear the term "backing up the registry" a lot. How do you do that?

No such thing as stupidity... everybody learns by asking. Here is one method:

Start|Run|Type "regedit"|From the Registry Editor page highlight "My Computer"|Then from the File drop down menu select "Export" and follow the prompts to save the backup wherever you desire.

CAUTION! Be very careful making any changes in the registry unless you know exactly what you are doing and are familiar with the registry.

Have fun but do be careful!
