Question

How do I change what the back button on mouse does in iTunes

Dec 15, 2012 1:26AM PST

I don't know if this belongs in this forum or one of the others, because I don't know what is causing the issue. When I have iTunes open in the background (another window in Windows 7 is active), the previous song is selected when I hit the back button on my mouse. I have a Logitech MX1100, and I have added iTunes to the customizable list in Setpoint with "do nothing" selected for the forward and back buttons. When iTunes is active, the buttons do not work. It is getting frustrating when I am listening to iTunes in the background while surfing the internet, and the previous song keeps popping up when I want to go back one page.

I forgot to include my system information. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, Firefox 17.0.1, and the Logitech MX1100 with the newest version of Setpoint. I recently built a new computer with the following components:

Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz
ASUS P8Z77-V LK
SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW
G.SKILL Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

Answer
I didn't have that issue, but I didn't install setpoint!

My bet is Logitech will have to issue a new version.

BTW, Logitech will be chasing this for years.

As each new app comes out, there's a possibility of setpoint breaking. Your newer consumers may not understand this system of things breaking all the time.
