how do I change the user file name?

I just bought this refurbished laptop from a friend but she had aleady entered her name as the user as in C:|user\here name.
How can I change that name?

Go into Control Panel>Users (directly or via Settigns) and make a new user with administrator capabilities. Then login as that user and delete your friends account. Then you start all over.

Remember that it's best to have a spare admin user, just in case your account gets corrupted. So while you're in Control Panel, make 2 new accounts (and login into both to have Windows set them up). Don't forget the password of your spare account!

They Won't Be Lost If You Copy The Files From Old To New

After creating the new login account and before deleting it, copy your files from the old to the new. And by following Kees advice from above to create at least two admin accounts, you could even save the old user account for a while, as long as it's an admin account, just for backup. Once you have copied all your files from the old account, and making backups of those files to a DVD, flash drive, or external hard drive, then you could delete the files from the old account to save space.
