How do I change Graphic Icons back to their original state?

by CSU_Jr / December 17, 2004 12:36 AM PST

I installed a new graphics program and it changed ALL of the graphic files to that programs Icon and renamed each file to that programs Image. All of the Icons now look the same and all of the graphic files are named the same (as an image of that program). This makes it difficult for me to tell which ones are which (JPG's, GIF's BMP's, TIF's, etc.)

Can anyone tell me how I change my Graphic Icons and names (GIF Image, JPEG image, etc.) back to their original state?

Thank you,
Charles

Maybe there

Normally, if you open Windows Explorer, click on Tools and Folder Options..., File Types; it's possible to change the settings there.

What program did you install?

You will do others a favor by telling them what program you installed so they can avoid the same experience you did. I had HiJack do the same to my Icons and programs.

RE: icons...extensions.

since you have it for re-install, uninstall it to see if things return to previous. If so, when re-installing, choose "custom install" or otherwise get the option to choose what files are opened with this application.
Also: start>settings>folder options, set to classic on "general" page, and uncheck "hide known file extensions".
Ultimately, search for "tweak ui, or tweak 133" and use the options to reset things to default.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
