Once you have finalized and/or removed the disk from the drive it is a done deal, no adding, Windows or Mac. The only disk(s) with which to do this are CD/RW DVD/RW then, with the proper software you can accomplish the task but not in Windows with base Windows software, after market software is required.

To answer the question;
Native burning with OS X finalizes the CD/DVD which effectively prevents any further writing to that disk.
That said, it can be done when using Toast, disk burning software for Mac, but even then you have to hunt for the preference.
