Question

How do I burn a DVD..to view on a DVD player?

Feb 10, 2012 1:20AM PST

I have burned to view in DVD player in the past & now it says no
data but I can view on computer.

Can anyone give me a step by step
for a successful DVD burn to view on DVD player?

OS X 10.6.8
When using a "create your folder" method nothing can be viewed.

I
have iDVD. When DVDs are burned, shows just the first video on the DVD
& there are
58. Tried 2 and shows just the first one. What am I missing?
Can this be done? Thanks!

I can't guess if you changed anything but here's what I run into too often.

They are using ONE DVD VIDEO PLAYER and the Video DVD works on my laptop and another player.

Answer
The "Create your folder" method will only

create a DVD with Data files on it.

It does not create a DVD Movie disc that is playable on a regular DVD player.

Roxio Toast, on the other hand, does.

Toast is by far the application of choice for CD & DVD burning on a Mac but, if you don't want to spend the cash, there is a free alternative.

is home to an app called Burn. It's free and can create all sorts of CD and DVD discs

DVD burning
Feb 10, 2012 9:01AM PST

I downloaded Burn. It sounded like and appeared to prepare the disc for burning. That took about an hr. When I clicked on "burn" the DVD came out and said there were errors. 9 different "threads", one said crashed.
Shouldn't be this time consuming or unsuccessful. : )
