How Do I Boot Directly Into Win98 Using a Startup Disk?

Mar 21, 2004 8:26PM PST

Hi Gang,

I seem to remember a tip I read a long time ago. It told me how to boot directly into Windows 98Se using a Win98 Startup Disk.

I've lost that tip and was wondering if anybody could help me out?

Thanks,

Hulk701

Unless you put the necessary commands in the autoexec.bat on the startup diskette, nothing will happen automatically.
An alternative might be to have an MSDOS.SYS with bootgui=1 on this diskette, but there should be more statements in it to work correctly.

Can you explain why you want this?

There is nothing as:

Boot Directly Into Win98 Using a Startup Disk?

1 The Boot Disk is made on a floppy disk, which
can hold only 1,457 MB of data. For Windows
98 / SE Mode , you need atleast 300 + MB

2 When you boot from Startup Floppy disk, you
don't use any file from C Drive (Hard Disk)

You forget about it.

If you want to make a Boot Floppy Disk (aka:
Startup Disk), then visist:
