How do I add a sender to address book in Outlook 2007?

Jun 26, 2007 6:54AM PDT

Outlook 2007, like the other Office 2007 apps, looks very different from its previous versions so I'm a bit lost. When I receive an email, how do I tell Outlook to add the sender to my address book?

outlook 2007 add sender to address book

It's a pain. They changed it. Highlight the message in the inbox. Then in the Reading Pane, right click on the sender's email address and click on >Add to Outlook Contacts. A window pops up. You can add other info. Click> SAve and Close, Then > Update and it's in your address book.

Thanks much for this little tid-bit. As if Microsoft couldn't screw up Office 2007 enough, they hide this task.

"Add to Outlook Contacts" Missing as an Option

ANY OTHER IDEAS?

I've spent well over 1.5 hours trying to find a solution online. When I do the steps above, there is no "Add sender to Outlook Contacts" (or any other possible variation of this command). It does not appear in any menus. No right click option, in a message, in a preview, in the list ... anywhere.
Right click on FROM line in open email produces fly out menu with Cut, Copy, Paste, Clear (all greyed out), and Select All.
New system [Dell OptiPlex 390]. 64-bit Windows 7, Office Outlook 2007 (12.0.4518.1014) MSO (12.0.4518.1014)
Previously used Outlook Express in Windows XP PRO. A good number of my contacts (exported to csv and imported into Outlook 2007) do not seem to appear in my Outlook Contact, so I'm having to manually add them.
Thanks in advance,
Kristi

"Add to Outlook Contacts" Issue Identified
Aug 2, 2011 4:11AM PDT

Hi Bob,
Thanks for replying to my post. Shortly after posting, I actually realized the problem and posted a reply to my own post. It doesn't appear to be showing here, however.
A friend sent me a message as a test. In that message I COULD right click on her FROM name and access the menu. I then realized that the issue is ISOLATED to messages that originated in Outlook Express and which I imported into Outlook 2007.
Messages which were initially received into Outlook Express and not Outlook 2007 do not offer the typical right-mouse-click options. They offer only the cut/paste/etc. options I outlined above.
