How do fax numbers work?

Jul 9, 2010 5:04AM PDT

I want to know how a fax number works. Can it be your home phone that also acts as your fax or does it have to be a different number. I have a printer thats a 3-in-1 Lexmark X2500. I also want to know if using a skype number is also possible instead of using a home phone.

Thank you,
Megaherz

You can share your home phone line with the fax or you can have a dedicated fax line. Make sure the Lexmark printer is connected to a computer that is equipped with a fax modem. To fax, both the printer and the computer must be turned on. For your reference, refer to the Lexmark X2500 User's Guide by going to this link: http://bit.ly/cbh9jg. Scroll to Faxing, Page 46, for instructions on how to make the printer work for faxing.
