Google Earth for example actually uses two input methods to gather data. One is satellite and the other car mounted camera imagery. The results are stored for use by viewers. It is NOT 100% total satellite imagery alone. When you use the "direction arrows" to navigate once you go a low level view you seamlessly switch from satellite to land based imagery. The same should apply to any public available imagery, thus excludes any govt. or military sourced imagery. The cross-reference of location is supplied public mailbox address -OR- your viewing by zooming +/- the view and use landmarks to best define where you locate your final location. good luck
