Question

How can I use kyocera android as a camera only? with a pc?

Mar 17, 2015 4:27AM PDT

Im using an xp system until I recover my vista and make it a seven. I really hate touch screen smart phones, but I love the picture taking quality's of this Metro pcs/ android. I dont want phone service or any of its many app's.. I want to use the phone as a camera and maybe mp3 i-pod replacement? But I assume I need some type of droid/window's interface or adapter software? can it be done?

Clarification Request
Hey, I have a kycera android phone.

I can't guess what's stopping you here. I leave it in airplane mode so it's just like any old android at that point and I can take pictures.

I don't need any other app or adapter.

I use an inactive Motorola Android......

.......and there is no need to put in airplane mode. I only connect it through wifi or through the USB charger port to my computer and have no issues. Been doing this almost 2 years now.

Why I use airplane mode.

On my Kyocera I can get a week on a charge with that small change. I can leave the wifi on and the magic of dropbox makes it too easy to use as a camera.

I had not tried that yet. I assume airplane mode is a setting in the phone, like the blue tooth folder?

I will look for that now, yes I just assumed window's would need some type of (go-between)

like (i-tunes or pod-trans) would be needed to manipulate and accesss data on an i-pod

while using a mocrosoft system..

I found that for my androids

Airplane mode got me over a week versus a few days. Sorry if I don't quote the manual or web on how to set this up.

-> You didn't form a question after this so I'll just write to get my pictures out I have to do absolutely nothing. I installed dropbox so when the phone can, the pictures are automatically sent to my dropbox picture folder.

If you don't like Bob's suggestion of dropbox...

...just connect a USB data cable and drag/drop files from phone to Windows PC. Done.

This would save a little battery power too when you avoid having to turn on wifi just to upload to dropbox, etc.
