Amazon said that this phone is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile, not locked. It is sold by Amazon.
If it is really locked, you can return it to Amazon for free, web page doesn't specify it. It shouldn't be a problem, I never believe that Amazon decline such request.
But if it not compatible with your operator (4G, LTE doesn't work), it is different story. In this case you might check frequencies of your operators and find one. Or you probably can return it to Amazon, but Amazon will change you for shipping and may be for restocking.

I totally misread the description on that phone, it said it was compatible with certain carries and not locked to them only, I did some research and it turns out the phone was actually compatible with my carrier, so thanks for clearing that out.

I would never purchase a phone from a seller at amazon anymore, due to the fact that I got burned for $800 2 weeks ago when I purchased an Iphone 7 from a seller there, he sent me an empty iphone box and amazon wouldn't help me due to the fact that I sent it to a freight forwarder, which ended up with me calling my bank to refund the money..

I heard its possible to unlock phones so I thought I might ask..

Always possible

But if you are in a contract, only the contract carrier can release you.

That's why you read so many SCREAMS about clean IMEI and such. Folk would get 99 buck iPhones and sell them for a lot more only to find out the phone's IMEI is not clean or free.

Sorry, that first unlocked was not so good.
