Unless you know of a conflict due to certain codecs, there is no need to uninstall. However, if known as a source of conflict, then use its own uninstaller or any uninstaller that lists it. It is assumed there is a listing to act from and not some raw codec bundle. If you know the maker or source of conflict codec, goto its support website and follow their advise on removal.
