Apparently the TV recognizes 1080p if I manually set it to 1080p in the Player setup menu. If I leave it set to BD Wise, the TV shows it as standard definition.
If I manually set it to display 1080p, should I set the Movie View on or off with a Samsung 52" 750 240hz tv?
Do I also set it to 16:9 Normal or Wide?
Thanks in advance.
How can I tell if I am upconverting to 1080p on a DVD playback?
I watched a DVD last night and it looked excellent, played perfectly all the way though. The only issue I had was when I hit the info button on the TV, it showed it at 720x480 standard definition playback. This was a 52" 750.
The movie looked better than that. I would have guessed that it was upconverting. I just want to make sure.
The DVD loaded and played quickly. Far quicker than Bluray which seems to take 10 seconds or so.
I am running the latest firmware. So far everything has worked. I even got a HD Netflix movie to play with only 1 hiccup (you must have a very fast internet connection).
We got the player with our TV purchase and really like it. It was even cheaper than the 3600. Wireless was even relatively easy to setup.
I did have to update the firmware via usb drive. Wireless froze on that every time around 75-80%
