I sincerely doubt it's the result of a virus, particularly with Norton and SpySweeper protecting you. Instead, I would:
1.) Try searching your hard drive for the file normal.dot and delete when found. Corruption of that file is the most common cause of problems with Microsoft Word.
2.) Insert your Microsoft Office 2000 CD and choose the repair option to repair any corruption that has occurred.
Hope this helps,
I have a Toshiba A 15 S 129 laptop. I select, copy and paste info of interest in a new Microsoft word 2000 document. I save the links from NYT daily e-mails for reference. Since Thursday I am blocked. I can ONLY copy and paste from a word document to a new word page. For e-mails I can open Microsoft front page edit, select, copy and pastge in a text document, repeat the steps to get a word document. When I attempt to paste into a word document a selection from e-mail, the program does not respond and I have to exit by choosing the option "end now". Even then I have to repeat this operation more than once. I have used "restore" with the cut off date 27 Nov. but to no use. I have AT&T Yahoo broadband for my e-mail and internet connections. I have Norton virus protection and also spy sweeper the latter scheduled daily. Virus sweeps do not show any virus.
I need help to get over this problem.
If it is virus how can I get rid of it?
Is there any other virus protection software to eliminate any virus that is not eliminated by Norton and Spy sweeper?
I eagerly await help.
