i would like to record my android screen to my mac. I've looked around but most of the solutions are for windows.

You as a DEVELOPER get to use ADB on the Apple and it can get you screen shots but "recording" would be limited to the Emulator noted at

If you really need this, read http://www.redmondpie.com/record-android-screen-with-screencast-screen-recorder-for-android/ and the sad thing is you need to root the Android (which I will not discuss here) and then record ON THE ANDROID DEVICE then copy the recording over to the Apple or other machine.
