How can I make visible all the sessions written on a DVD?

Jul 9, 2007 5:38PM PDT

Data - repeat - Data files(not video) were written on a DVD using Nero7 in multi session mode. It was probably in UDF. I am not sure. When the DVD is opened on a different computer ( I cannot take it to the original one now) it shows only the first session. While writing, Nero had said the files I was going to write, were of a different formatt and asked permission to change it. I have tried ISO Buster but failed. Tested with Nero7. It shows the disk to be empty. It is a 4.7 GB disk. While writing the last session Nero showed a balance of about 1GB. Thanks to all of you.

Turn the disk over

and see if you can see it change color. When burning disks, the burn from the inside out, if I remember correctly.

Does the computer your using have DVD capability?

Can you still access the other computer to retrieve your data?

left click on the DVD drive and right click on explore

See what data you have on the DVD.

Visibility of sessions in a DVD

Thank you, PudgyOne. I have exhausted all those. No color changes, by the way.Happy
I cannot access the original computer. Atleast for a week or two.
I need the data fast. Thanks anyway. Regards.

Tried ISO Buster?
Jul 9, 2007 10:33PM PDT

If that failed then the next tools are in LINUX. Boot Linux in one drive and this in another and scout around there.

TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk is worth a shot too. The problem is "data recovery" and you are a little off the beaten path so try the demo versions of GETDATABACK and Zero Assumption Recovery. As these are trials you will not be successful in getting the files back. Sometimes people confuse what these trial softwares can do. They only let us look at the directories.

Thank you R.Proffitt

That is a good suggestion, R.Proffitt.But the problem is to get the data. I am not worried if the data is on the disk or not. As you have pointed out, I may have to spend money to get my files. That will be the last choice.
Linux is a try. Will let you know how Stallman's vision can help me!!
Thank you. Regards

Thank you, but I was away

Thank you. I was away. Couldnot respond early. Since I wanted the data urgently, I got it copied from the original computer. But I am going to try your suggestion. And will let you know. Nero site says it is for CDs. Let us see what happens to a DVD. Thank you Edward ODaniel. And thank you R. Proffitt, for that forensic line. I will test that too.
Regards.
