Question

How can I make an auto-dialer forget my number?

Sep 24, 2013 1:36AM PDT

For almost four years, I have been plagued by telemarketing calls from an Indian pharmacy. I have tried to reason with them, to quit calling me, but to no avail. They use VOIP and an auto-dialer to call me. I can't block their number, because they just spoof another number to appear to be calling from.
Is is possible for me to access their auto-dialer and cause it to delete my phone number? I realize that on the surface, this might appear unethical, but considering the facts that they are located overseas, and are thereby untouchable by the US Do Not Call law, and that they are breaking US law by continuing to harass me with their calls, I must do what I can to get some relief. Please help.

This is what works for me

When I get a call from an area code I don't recognize, I just press the Talk button on the phone, wait about a second, then press the End button. After 2 or 3 iterations of that, they don't call any more. It works for me. YMMV. Good luck.

Same here.

The answering machine was changed recently as well. The word "Hello" was removed and the number of recorded calls dropped dramatically.
