How can I hide my TV components (satelite box or cable box)?

Jan 26, 2005 4:25AM PST

I have a room in which I need to maximize space by using a flat panel television. I have space for the components (like a satellite box or cable box) in an adjacent closet, and can even run wires through the wall from the components to the TV. Is there a device that will allow me to change channels with a remote control (one that doesn't need to shoot an infrared beam at the cable box or satellite box)? Is there a way to put a small infrared receiver on the wall, that can then send a signal to the hidden cable or satellite box? Any help will be deeply appreciated.

The best way to do it is with an niles repeater system, this will give you a main unit, a main IR sensor that you can mount in your cabinet and then you buy the flashers that go on the equipment. This will give you total control of your system that you can't see. I also would recommend a Harmony remote to control it all.

I'm new to the forum, and like your taste in TVs and advise. I bought the Mits 52327 for $2799 in store (retail $2999), because of the Mits name and overall better picture quality. But I can't find any info on it on the net. I see you are pretty informative on Mits TVs, so I would like to know as much on the 52327 as possible.
What are it's specs, pros, cons, etc. What am I missing out in the 52327 from the 52525?
One thing that concerns me is supposedly it can't display 720p, but other res. are fine (including 1080i). Can you clarify? You say it uses the HD2+ chip, what is the native res of the lamp? I think it's 1280x1024.

Any info is appreciated.
