Question

How can I get my landline service back from Google?

Jul 6, 2011 4:45AM PDT

Having spent hours online trying to research this issue, it seems that it's an app. so I cannot totally get rid of google talk. I along with several others have complained of issues with landline phone ie ring and static problems. Having enjoyed so many other Google products I do not want to completely get rid of my e-mail and other products yet this is the only option that I have found that they offered.

Followed your suggestions although I had already tried them. They mentioned that you can't just deactivate an only phone. Suggested getting a second number ie pay phone to show as number. They said they're working on it.
In which case, you could then go into the phone tab on your account (my account does not have such a tab even after using the little icon in the upper right).

I had just clicked on "Call" in my gmail account and dialed a number. Did not sign up for one of their numbers.

Thank you for your reply.
