Question

How can I fix SDBUS INTERNAL ERROR?

Aug 11, 2014 11:39PM PDT

I have an Asus VivoTab Smart, currently running Windows 8.1, that I bought over a year ago, and it's been crashing regularly, giving me the blue screen with this message:
Sad
You PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info, and then we'll restart for you. (100% complete)
If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error: SDBUS INTERNAL ERROR

It usually freezes at 100% and stays there until I restart it, I left it once and it stayed that way for hours until it ran out of juice.
I looked it up, and found references to updating drivers, but I'm not sure how to do that. I've also read that that doesn't always work. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I'm not computer illiterate, but I'm not an IT specialist, so detailed steps would be very helpful and much appreciated.

I tried, but it says the update is not applicable to my system. Thanks for trying.

Here's my bet.

8.1 was not out when that shipped and in the news is Microsoft removing links to an 8.1 update. So get with Asus and see if this tablet supports 8.1 or what drivers and in what order are required.

My second bet is they'll roll it back to the factory supplied OS.
