But my Logitech keyboard works fine without any added driver. Yes those special buttons don't work but I don't need them.

If you want to use all features for a particular Logitech device you would have to go to Logitech's website and see if they are available for the device and your specific OS and do the download. The reason I have used Logitech as long as I have is the ease of hooking up, basically just plug and play with every OS I have used, including Linux. As Bob Proffit stated, I really don't need the optional add on "GINGERBREAD" that you can download, it is your choice.
