The laptop is now 7 years old, works fine but has gone through 2 keyboards and the HDD was changed to SSD. What laptop? This one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0034NGZWM/
And my son always played games on as high settings as he could.
if you want the laptop to last a long time, it would be better to limit playing games on high settings.
set ur advanced power options for processors. min 0% max 80% cooling to passive NOT active.
u have i7 so u dont need more than that and if its that u need more just set ur pc to run with all processors (if it says there is 8 there is really 16 of them. never will be needed! ur lap graphic card will be first one to get too old)
That's in Control Panel>Power Management>Change>Change Advanced Power Settings>Processor power settings.
Seems more or less the same in Windows 7 and in Windows 10. It's remarkable the Windows 10 settings app still falls back to good old Control Panel, isn't it?
