How can I connect my Samsung tab 3 to my Ps3?

Why can't I connect my Samsung Tab 3 to my Ps3? I don't want to steam my vids or music.... I just assumed, I could plug it into my ps3 just like my cell phone or my wd hard drive, but my ps3 doesn't read any data on my tablet. However, it does charge my tablet but nothing else, it also doesn't work with my tv. Anyone have any ideas on how to make it work?

The tab 3 as a storage device?

I didn't find any documentation to suggest it would allow that.
