how can I check if i need to change screen cable or screen

my Samsung NP300e5c has suddenly pink and green stripes how can i check whether its the screen cable or the screen that is faulty?

Even in the service centers you change one then the other.

However my old friend reminds us that when we are not in such a service center to "Change the cheapest part first."

Lines on the screen are usually the screen going bad

I usually see vertical or horizontal lines when the LCD panel is going bad. This can happen from bad luck or a heavy drop or impact, especially around the edges of the screen itself.

My experience when the cable is bad is that one color doesn't show correctly, colors are inverted, or they look like a psychedelic drug trip. Usually the problem is on the entire screen.

These are just my experiences. Others may have an opinion too.
